International Women’s Day WALK & TALK Weekend 5-7th March

raising money for vital mental health workshops for young girls and women
Sponsored by
We cant have our usual shindig to celebrate International Women’s Day this year but we still wanted to make some noise around issues that young girls & women face & celebrate being gals.
NE Youth have been supporting young girls and women for over 85 years. ( we obviously help young men too) The pandemic has been incredibly hard for all of us, but for some disadvantaged young girls we’ve seen increased reports of violence, increased unpaid care work (shouldered by young girls/women), growing economic gender inequality, reduced access to sexual and reproductive healthcare and gendered mental health issues.
To tackle some of the issues we want to put on a series of mental health workshops… and to do this we need to raise some vital funds.
We would like to encourage all you ladies out there to ‘Walk & Talk’ the weekend before IWD ( 5th-7th March) Go for a stroll with your Mum, power walk with your daughter, hike with your sister or just a mossy with your mate. ( keeping within gov restrictions) While on the walk, talk about how you are feeling- its tough for us women at the mo and we need to talk about it. Have a think about our sisters that have gone before us and really fought a hard fight ( Rose Parks, Emily Pankhirst, Maire Curie, Coco Chanel)  and celebrate some who are leading the way today like Kamala, Greta T and Serena Williams!
Rather that buy a coffee and cake – take a flask and some Hob Nobs from home, then if you fancy it donate the £5 to NE Youth – your donation will go to help put on one of our mental health workshops and truly make a difference.

TEXT IWD to 70450 to donate £5
