Building Steps to a Brighter Future
We are excited to be involved in this employability programme for young people aged 18-29 living in North Tyneside, which we are able to offer to our members and wider network. This programme can be used alongside your already existing delivery and can add capacity and value to complement your services. Alternatively, you may have wanted to offer an employability programme but didn’t have the funds or the capacity, then we could support with this through partnership opportunities.
The Brighter Futures Programme is a community intervention project for North Tyneside in partnership with Tyne Metropolitan College, Engaging Pathways CIC, First Face to Face, YMCA North Tyneside, NE Youth, Meadow Well Connected, Northumbria YA, Excel North East, Family Gateway and North Tyneside Council. The project is for Young People 18-29 who are not in work or inactive due to multiple barriers. The project is for young people who need a range of support and interventions to get them job ready and into sustainable employment or self-employment using a one person, one plan approach.

UPS Road Code
UPS Road Code is a 3 hour driving awareness programme for ages 13-18 years, promoting safety when in and around cars as a driver or passenger. The programme includes an interactive workshop, group discussions, an opportunity to have a go behind the wheel of our driving simulator, and experience the effects of dangerous driving from the safety of your chair, using a virtual reality head set.
On completion of the programme, young people can access funding to share the road safety messages they have learnt to others in their communities; inspiring others to be safe in and around cars.

Funded by Sport England and #iWill , Outdoor Activators is a social action programme for young people aged 12 – 20 years, where they will engage in meaningful social action project based on issues they are passionate about, through sport and/or outdoor activities. Outdoor Activators will provide the structure, support and seed funding (a minimum of £250) for the young people to lead quality social action programmes that develop their life skills, and hopefully encourage the habit of volunteering, and understanding the benefits to everyone in their local communities.
During the programme, young people will work towards a National Youth Achievement Award and have a celebration event in their community at the end of this short (min 10 hrs) programme. The programme is flexible to meet the needs of members and young people and therefore NE Youth can deliver the sessions at your venue or we can give you the resources and support with co-delivery.
Please contact Louise@neyouth.org.uk to discuss how this can work for you!
Best Summer Ever
‘Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever’ is a holiday activity scheme aimed at supporting the city’s 5 to 18 year olds through a combination of sport, play and nutritious meals. Funded by the Department for Education, this innovative £1.1 million-pound project brings together more than 70 local partners, including Newcastle City Council, Streetgames, GLL and FareShare, to empower more young people than ever before to remain Fit and Fed through the summer.
We are delighted to be involved in the project, bringing healthy food and fun activities to young people attending our direct delivery sessions over the summer.
