We’re absolutely thrilled that a member of our Peer Action Collective (PAC) has been shortlisted in the Rising Star category of North East Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber Business Awards 2025!

Ellie Johnson (second from left, first image with NE Youth sign visible) has been amazing in her role with our PAC for almost two years, working directly with young people to address serious youth violence and school exclusions as Social Action Lead.

In the last 18 months, Ellie has directly supported over 400 young people through interviews, focus groups, and social action projects. Thanks to her work, nearly £16,000 has been distributed to youth-led projects tackling serious youth violence.

She’s been described as “an inspiration” and even a “future Prime Minister.” Ellie features here on one of our recent clips talking about her experiences with NE Youth.

Ellie is dedicated, driven, and never seeks recognition for her work. NE Youth wouldn’t be the same without her, and we know her future is incredibly bright. We are so proud!

Don’t just take our word for it – here are a few of her many glowing testimonials:
