On Sunday, 11th September 2022, thirty-five NE Youth supporters participated in the Great North Run, with one collective aim… to raise vital funds for NE Youth.

Included were a number of staff who work for our longstanding and loyal supporter the Inn Collection Group.  Check out their story here.

Our runners ranged from seasoned athletes, fun-runners to first time entrants; all of whom gave 100% energy and commitment on the day.

A moving rendition of the new national anthem God Save the King was played to around 60,000 runners and thousands of spectators who lined the roads of Newcastle, just three days after the death of the Queen at the age of 96.

The playing of the national anthem followed an impeccably observed minute’s silence in honour of the late Queen.  The race then kicked off with ‘Local Hero’ playing, much to the delight of the excited runners.

Family and friends joined us at the charity village at the end of the event where we greeted our running heroes with huge congratulations, a goody bag and much needed refreshments.

Our current fundraising total stands at a fantastic £8,204 – with donations still coming in!  If you wish to support, please donate here.  All money raised goes towards the essential work and services we provide in supporting some of the most disadvantaged young people in the north east.

A massive thank you to all our runners, and to all those who donated.  We couldn’t do what we do without you!
