In the week commencing 19th September 2022, NE Youth were proud to support World Peace School Sports Day.

Schools and youth groups worldwide were invited to participate to show their support for peace and to raise funds for Ukraine. Individuals donated £1 (or equivalent) to take part in a school or group-based sporting event or e-sports coding challenge.

In addition to ‘traditional’ sports activities, World Peace School Sports Day (WPSSD) gave young people across the globe the option to engage in e-sports through coding, nurturing the innovators and game developers of the future and making the day even more inclusive.

NE Youth had 20 young people across 3 sessions take part in a variety of team sports, darning yellow and blue attire in support of Ukraine. The young people chose to play Boules, Football and Basketball in amongst their regular youth sessions.

Jon Niblo, Chief Executive at NE Youth, a leading youth development charity in the North East, said:

“NE Youth are proud to support this event for such an incredibly important cause and I would really encourage all of our members to get involved.”

Our youth groups very much enjoyed taking part in World Peace School Sports Day and NE Youth are proud to play our part in supporting the people of Ukraine.
