Young men show how commitment reaps rewards

It was a memorable night for an excellent group of young men from Studio West who scooped an award at this year’s The Key Awards.

The ‘Studio West Bad Boys’ worked together to create a presentation for The Key to pitch their funding request in order to experience Foot Golf for the first time. Part of the task is to put everything together themselves. They gained valuable soft skills that they can carry on to their lives and careers – public speaking, planning, teamwork, resolving conflict, research, and dealing with authority. They also challenged societal perceptions about their capability to succeed because of their ages, appearance and boisterous natures. They flipped these perceptions on their head by doing an amazing job and impressing the panel of judges with their confident presentation.

This is what The Key had to say:

“The ‘Studio West Bad Boys’, supported by NE Youth, started their Key+ journey with uncertainty…

Along the way, they built stronger bonds… maturity and commitment.

Their transformation is a powerful reminder… create real, lasting change.”

Congratulations to everyone involved, an amazing achievement. We’re very proud of you!
