The annual Northumberland High Sheriff awards took place again this year at the Alnwick Playhouse on the 12th of March 2024. NE Youth were pleased to attend and were awarded £1,000 from the High Sheriff of Northumberland’s Awards through the Community Foundation as well as receiving a Special Recognition Award.
This award recognises our Odysseus Mentoring Project, and the incredible impact the mentoring project has on young people across Northumberland who are at risk of offending or re-offending.
NE Youth Staff and Volunteers accompanied two young people to the ceremony. One of the young people said:
“It was great to be able to go up and accept the High Sheriff Award on behalf of NE Youth, a year ago I definitely would not have gone up on stage to accept an award.”
The other young person said:
“The performances throughout the awards where class, especially the live music.”
