We are proud to announce that NE Youth Chief Executive, Jon Niblo, has been shortlisted for the prestigious North East Charity Awards as the North East Charity Leader of the Year 2022.
The awards, which are now in their eighth year, will take place at The Fed in Gateshead on October 19th and will highlight the region’s top charities, as well as fundraisers and leaders in the voluntary sector.
In his 13 years in post, Jon has been an integral part to moving NE Youth forward, ensuring our organisation has continued to meet the evolving needs of young people and organisations working with young people. He has successfully manoeuvred us through many challenging periods with his positive leadership, including vast cuts to public sector funding and the Covid-19 pandemic.
During his time in post, Jon has been at the forefront of transformational change for NE Youth, moving it from a charity which worked with a small amount of organisations in 3 local authority areas and no direct work with young people, to one which works with hundreds of organisations and thousands of young people across the region’s 12 local authority areas every year.
Jon has said:
“I feel extremely proud to have been shortlisted in the category of Charity Leader of the Year. The North East has some amazing local and regional charities who are led by some incredible people. I am very fortunate at NE Youth to have such an amazing staff team and this nomination is reflection of the success we have achieved together and the culture and environment we have created.”
Jon is a credit to the charitable sector of the North East and is wholly deserving of the Charity Leader of the Year award.
