A leading North East youth development charity and international management consultancy firm have joined forces to give ambitious pupils across Tyne & Wear an opportunity of a lifetime.
NE Youth and Oliver Wyman are both organisations who are drivers of social mobility. According to a Government report in 2021, only 31% of people in the North East believe opportunities to progress in their area are ‘good’, compared to 74% in London. Both NE Youth and Oliver Wyman are passionate about enabling young people in the North East access to new opportunities, so that all young people can achieve their full potential no matter where they are from.
About the Challenge
Oliver Wyman created The Data and Analytics Scholarship, sponsored by the Newcastle DNA Oliver Wyman office, as an effort to help and encourage students to expand their limits, raise their ambitions and enable further education by facilitating continuity of university studies and provide access to high quality education. As well as this, there is the opportunity to start developing a professional journey at the impact driven management consulting firm.
The Challenge, advertised through Schools, Sixth Forms and Colleges around Newcastle, put the skills of students to the test and gave them the opportunity to prove that they have what it takes to thrive in the world of data analytics.
2022’s Winners
There were 4 worthy winners of the competition, with the two best submissions receiving a £2,000 University Bursary for each year of their undergraduate degree. All winners also received a guaranteed internship position at Oliver Wyman DNA.
A huge well done to all of the winners and thank you to the students who entered, it was a joy to review the applications!
