Last week, we were proud to join the Peer Action Collective (PAC) North East for their final showcase, celebrating two years of incredible work by a group of young peer researchers.
Research with Impact
Over the past two years, these young people have explored the realities of serious youth violence in our region. But their work has gone beyond research – they’ve been shaping solutions. By drawing on their own experiences, they’ve developed social action projects that make a real difference in communities across the North East.
Growth and Confidence
Watching this team develop has been inspiring. Their confidence has soared as they’ve presented findings to influential groups, worked alongside decision-makers, and recorded vital statistics connecting young people with change-makers. One highlight was presenting their work to a group of MPs at Parliament earlier this summer – a moment that showcased both their commitment and the power of youth voice.
Showcase Launches
At Thursday’s showcase, the PAC North East team launched:
🔹 Breaking the Cycle – a report capturing what young people are saying about violence, safety, and opportunity.
🔹 Youth Voice Toolkit – practical resources for schools, youth organisations, and local partners to act on these findings.
Why It Matters
This is youth leadership at its best. When young people lead, we don’t just see statistics – we see lived experience and ideas that can drive real change for their peers and communities.
We want to thank all the organisations and individuals who have supported, nurtured, and listened to this exceptional group. The PAC North East peer researchers have shown what’s possible when young voices are heard – and the positive impact will be felt for years to come.
