Generation Code

GenCode

Our Generation Code programme, in partnership with UK Youth & Microsoft, addresses the lack of skills and interest in coding and allows young people (aged 10-19) to feel inspired to get creative with code!

Generation Code taps into the interests of young people so that regardless of their passion or career aspirations, all young people can feel inspired by technology. By running Generation Code you have the power to enable young people to take advantage of new digital opportunities in a world where 90% of all jobs require digital skills.

If you’re interested in having NE Youth deliver a 2 hour digital coding workshop at your youth organisation please email Erin at erin@neyouth.org.uk.

We are also looking for young people to become Generation Code Champions. Please email Erin at erin@neyouth.org.uk to see how you can get involved and help shape the future!

*This course can be delivered at your organisation free of charge*

Digi Know

Approximately 300,000 young people are estimated to be “digitally excluded” in the UK as they lack the basic, resilient digital skills needed to access society to its fullest.

The Digi Know programme addresses the lack of digital skills in young people, particularly those who are facing personal, circumstantial or systemic barriers which could lead to digital exclusion, and empower them to access a world that is now digital-by-default. For ages 15-25.

*This course can be delivered at your organisation free of charge*

If you would like NE Youth to deliver this in your club, organisation, or school please email louise@neyouth.org.uk or 0191 2727494.

UPS Road Code

One in four 18-24 year olds (23%) crash within two years of passing their driving test & road deaths are the single biggest killer of young people today.

Due to the likelihood of risky behaviors of young drivers, passengers are immediately more at risk when in the car with a young driver, with 91% of young people aged 17-25 admitting that they have felt uncomfortable in the passenger seat of a car, with 41% of these people choosing not to speak out and ask the driver to concentrate.

NE Youth are teaming up with UK Youth & UPS to deliver Road Code, a programme that aims to increase the confidence of young people to speak up in potentially dangerous situations.

These workshops last for half a day and include a variety of activities, such as virtual reality and a ‘behind the wheel’ driving simulator!

If you would like NE Youth to deliver this in your club, organisation, or school please email louise@neyouth.org.uk or 0191 2727494.
