On Friday September 29th 2023, golf enthusiasts from across the region gathered at the Prince Bishops Course at Ramside Golf Club for an event that combined their love for golf with their commitment to a good cause. NE Youth’s annual Golf Day saw 20 teams teeing off to support our charity. The day was filled with competitive spirit, some interesting shots and heart warming moments, making it a memorable event for all involved.
The Prince Bishops Course at Ramside Golf Club provided the perfect backdrop for this golf day. The sunshine added an extra layer of enjoyment to the day.
This year’s Golf Day has been kindly sponsored by NE Youth’s committed supporters, Arian EMS, a World Class Electronic Manufacturing business based in the North East of England. They pride themselves on being able to give customers great product quality supplied on time at a competitive price.
A highlight of the day was the ‘Nearest to the Pin’ competition, where Carl Thompson won the closest shot. Additionally, the ‘Longest Drive’ competition saw Jonathan Watson and Margaret Wood taking home the honours in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, as they sent their balls soaring!
The event also featured a ‘Beat the Pro’ challenge, where players had the opportunity to test their skills against a professional golfer. In a testament to the talent on display, an impressive seven players managed to beat the pro.
Vertu Motors took the top spot with an impressive 84 points, securing their position as the champions of the day. Not far behind, Net Defence secured the second place with an excellent score of 83 points, proving that every stroke counted in this exciting competition.
We are delighted to announce this event has raised £4,000 net of all costs, to support our essential work with young people facing disadvantage across the North East.
NE Youth’s annual Golf Day would not have been possible without the generous support of the local business community and our sponsors, Arian EMS. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Ramside Golf Club for hosting this fantastic event and providing a stunning venue for the day. Ramside Estates deserves recognition for their contribution of fabulous raffle prizes, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
Additionally, the event was made even more special by the donations from various organisations and individuals. Vertu Motors, Inspired HR, Zen Group and Eclectic Coffee Roasters all played their part in ensuring that the day was not only competitive but also rewarding for all participants.
Here’s to many more years of successful Golf Days in support of NE Youth’s work for young people!
